WHAT CAN I TELL YOU ABOUT A BEAGLE?????

This is my tribute to Charlie.

Charlie became suddenly sick on a Sunday in March of this year, 2013, and left us on Monday.  Our exciting journey with 10 incredible beagles is coming to its end.  We still are blessed with Lady Bug and Lexi who are now both more than 13 years old.  Our beagles have taken us on the most amazing trip through part of our lives.  We have chased them, lost them, found them and on occasion gotten bitten by them (Charlie).  But we have learned more life lessons from them than I can even count.  I feel a special comfort with them sleeping on their night time beds in my room and touching me when they know I need a friend.  We now have 7 y/o Snoopy who should be with us for a long long time, but Tiger Lily, Molly, Sally, Bill & Sam, Doc, Benny, Spot, Lady Bug, Lexie, Bobby, Woody and Charlie all have left special spots in our hearts and special memories in our minds.  My pets have been my salavation in life. 

Charlie is a rescued "beagle".  However he is probably not a pure bred beagle, he is a little too big.  Beagles are 15" or 13" tall, or if you are a pocket beagle, not over 9" tall.

Charlie is enough like a beagle to have all the traits.  There is nothing that likes to sniff as much or as loud as a beagle.  There is also nothing that likes to eat as much as a beagle.

A beagle can escape from anything.  They are so creative when it comes to escape.  I once caught Charlie trying to tunnel under the electric tape and the fence - however he did not allow for the fence post and his plan was spoiled.  Unlike a beagle, Charlie was a fighter but a little doggie Prozac and some intense love changed him to a lover.

So, in summary, Beagles are the best at...

sniffing, eating, loving, escaping, running, not hearing your call, finding their treats, baying, loving, snuggling, sleeping.......
