Casper is getting on up there - about 20 years old.  Casper spent her younger years at another barn in town and from what I have heard gave many lessons.  She is a spunky little pony and would still like to go on quiet trail rides to the river.

Many white and grey horses develop equine melanoma and Casper is one of those horses.  Melanoma in horses is quite different than the disease of the same name in humans.  Casper has many tumors on the bottom of her tail and around her anal opening as well as a few in her mouth.  They have caused little trouble up to this point, however we are starting to see them cause some problems.  We are trying to use a cortisone cream on them to stop some of the itching and going to try some meds to shrink them.  Hope they work.
